Building CareCast under pressure
Team Storm Logic built an AI health and climate companion, then took first place at the HealthinClimate.ai Hackathon.
Useful guidance where people already communicate
CareCast connects weather monitoring with health context and delivers timely guidance through WhatsApp. The goal was practical: warn people before extreme heat becomes dangerous and continue checking in as conditions change.
I worked with Sandya Venugopal, Shivani Kadakia, Maya Chung, Tiffany Luo, and Benedict Ho. The short timeline forced us to make clear product decisions, divide the system carefully, and keep the experience easy to demonstrate.
What the sprint reinforced
A strong prototype is more than a model response. It needs dependable data, understandable messages, a delivery channel, and a team that can keep the whole path working under pressure.
